Participants brought their most puzzling kit winemaking questions to this session featuring Winexpert’s Tim Vandergrift & RJ Spagnols’ Peter Smith. Tim & Peter fielded questions for a full hour to help the audience troubleshoot common and not-so-common problems.
Tim Vandergrift has worked in the home beer and wine industry for two decades, and has served as Technical Services Manager for Winexpert since 2000 where his responsibilities include product development, technical documentation, translating winemaking protocols for consumers use, and wine education for Winexpert’s retail partners and their consumers. He is also a regular columnist and blogger for WineMaker magazine.
Peter Smith began making wine & beer in 1991 as a home winemaker in Vancouver, British Columbia and has been making wine every year since. He has made wines from rhubarb, strawberries, apricots and many wine varietals, as well as brewing a multitude of different beers. His cellar hovers around the 500 bottle mark at any given time. He recently graduated from Algonquin College as a Sommelier. Peter currently works and resides in Ottawa, Canada, where he plays a lead role for the Commercial Team of RJS Craft winemaking.
